How it started

Pop-Up On The Hill has been created to bring together local traders with visitors who are keen to experience wonderful food and drink in The Isle of Purbeck.

The seeds for the idea of Pop-Up On The Hill were sown in the middle of the pandemic. The cancellation of fairs, fetes, festivals, events and weddings meant that many of our wonderful local food and drink traders had a tougher time despite the fact that the Isle Of Purbeck was very busy.

Pop-Ups provide small businesses with greater opportunity to sell their products to more customers because they provide a popular and flexible location where they can sell their goods. Traders simply need to book their stands, either for the full eight weeks or just on the days that suit them, then turn up and start trading.

A year in the planning, we have now kitted out a field with everything traders and visitors will need. From tables and chairs made of up-cycled cable wheels and pallets to solar-powered loo facilities, we’ve got it covered.

The best part is that you can feast on delicious treats while being happy in the knowledge that you are supporting local small business.

Whether you drive, walk or fly to us, Pop-Up On The Hill is free to enter for visitors, so ‘pop-by’ and see what tickles your taste buds.
